ART DIRECTION SET DESIGN
Welcome to my slice of the web. While you’re here, have a taste of what my contribution has been to the design of these fabulous projects. This is a compilation of my design experience and while I had a hand in these creations and over saw the work, I was employed by the project production at the time, therefore these images should be left where you found them. They are here for your enjoyment and professional reference and to convey to other artists how I can help them on future film and television projects.
Now, that being said, let me tell you about myself. Besides being an Art Director and Set Designer, I’m also a trained and licensed Architect. University studies were enhanced by a school year studying in Copenhagen, Denmark. After graduation from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor of Architecture degree I worked with several Los Angeles area architectural firms on projects ranging from low income housing, military research laboratories to high rise office buildings. This was followed by several years of independent practice prior to entering the world of feature films and network television. |
My artistic journey in entertainment began by working on a show about nothing, the network mega hit Seinfeld. Entry into feature film was on the Wachkowski's directorial debut film Bound. It was a dynamic start to what has become a truly remarkable journey. I’ve had the pleasure of working in the Art Department in this remarkable business for numerous years, collaborating with many top Set Designers, Model Makers, Illustrators, Art Directors and Production Designers on projects that have been honored with Art Directors Guild and Emmy awards and Oscar nominations all while making many dear friends.
I hope you take your time and explore the images of my work and if you have questions or comments, please get in touch. Thank you for dropping by, HARRY OTTO
